Open Water Swimming at Heron Lake is opening early this season due to massive demand. The Lake opens on April 25th 2009Since 2006 Heron Lake Swimmers have been the single biggest donators to the lake, which has helped raise money for the BDWSA (British Disabled Water Skiing Association). With the money raised last year, it has been possible to invest in the much needed improvement of the facility, with new showers and changing rooms, plus many other areas that help and maintain a great facility for people to use and enjoy. The lake was receiving over 400 swimmers at the weekends, which illustrates what a popular venue and safe fun and enjoyable place Heron Lake is to use. 2008 will be no exception with an expected increase in people attending the lake. With this forecast additional parking areas are being sorted out. Heron Lake Opening TimesWe swim from 6am to 8.30am on Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesday mornings from the 25th April until end of September 2009. Heron Lake might be opening on Tuesdays, but this will depend on demand for Wednesday swimming this seems to be the most popular day to swim. Last entry to the lake is at 8am, exit the water by 8.30 to vacate the premises for 9am, to allow the disabled water skiers to have full access. Please note: The above times must be adheared too as the lake is only available to us until 9am. Heron Lake Prices£5 per person, per session. £35 for a 10 session card purchase. £300 for a 100 session card purchase. All the cards can be purchased at the gate in the morning. If you do so, please be aware that other vehicles will be entering and exiting the lake. Park up just after the gate to one side. Alternatively you can send a cheque, made payable to "Heron Lake Swimmers" and send it to Heron Lake Swimmers, 17A The Arches, Windsor, Berkshire, SL4 1RH. The session cards were extremely popular last year, as it meant that clubs and individuals not only save money, but it helped with the queues going out of the gate. Waiver Disclaimer FormWe have been asked by our insurance to get everyone to fill out and complete a new Waiver Disclaimer Form click here to download. Please complete this form to save time on the gate. If you can forward it onto any one that you know will be coming for a swim, this again will save a huge amount of time when entering the lake.
